Breathing control showed an average systolic reduction of about 6.65 mmHg, and mindfulness around 9.90 mmHg. The authors noted that certainty of evidence was low, so this is not a replacement for medical care, but it remains a meaningful direction.
A Simple Daily Switch
Instead of adding another to do list, try a small shift during your day.
Pick one cue, such as a traffic light, elevator, kettle boiling, or before a meeting.
When that cue happens, soften your jaw and drop your shoulders.
Breathe slowly through your nose for ten calm breaths.
Then continue.
